Understanding At-Home Microdermabrasion

Posted on March 21, 2016

The perks of having your own at-home microdermabrasion device are boundless. You do not need to set an appointment with your trusted esthetician, you do not need to block off hours from your day, and you do not need to leave your house just to get the same results that you can achieve by yourself with the help of your trusty microdermabrasion machine. But then, for most people, doing at-home treatments can be overwhelming and stressful. Sometimes, you do not know if you have done enough strokes to peel off a decent layer of dead skin. Not until you see you have successfully given yourself an angry red streak or bruise or hickey-like mark. We totally understand if you freak out afterwards, who wouldn’t?

We, at Trophy Skin, care about how our users respond to our at-home microdermabrasion devices. We believe that our at-home tools are nifty and it can benefit skincare junkies and those who are serious in taking good care of their skin. We would like to stress out how important it is to follow our suggested treatment plan to prevent damaging your skin and to ensure that you are getting the results that you truly deserve.

Using At-home

Our at-home microdermabrasion machines are guaranteed safe to be used and operated at home. Operating one is as easy as using any electronic gadget like a microwave oven or television. You just need to read the manual and watch How-To-Videos to learn how to properly use it. And of course, you need to try it out for yourself so you can adjust the suction, duration and frequency of each treatment according to your liking. If you need help, our Chat Support Representatives are available 24/7 and are very much happy to walk you through the process.

Skin Type

You have to understand that everyone has different type of skin. What works for others might be disastrous for some. As a rule of thumb, we would like you to start off with the lowest suction from your device and press lightly on your skin as you move the wand or the device across your skin. We suggest that you do not pass the same area more than twice. Overdoing it might cause you to abrade deeply than necessary. You just need to remove 2-3 layers of your skin, not the entire thing!

Duration

If you are still adjusting to the feel of using the device and still at the stage of figuring out how to maintain good suction, treatments can be as long as 10-15 minutes.  Once you have adjusted, treatments should be under 10 minutes, unless of course you wish to cover other areas like your hands, back, and feet.

Our MicrodermMD comes with an “Auto-Mode” that is helpful with people who are new to microdermabrasion. You can do your face, neck and chest in just five minutes and you are good to go.

RejuvadermMD and MiniMD are portable microdermabrasion tools we have that works as well as our full pledge system, MicrodermMD. Like mentioned, you can pass your skin surface once or twice then move on to another area to prevent scratching too deep in your skin.

Frequency

If you have normal skin, you can do as much as 2-3 times per week microdermabrasion treatment. If you have sensitive skin and is prone to bruising, we suggest that you start with the lowest suction, and space out your treatment to 4 to 7 days apart. The important key here is listening to your skin. If you feel that your skin is still reddish or pinkish from your last use, give it a few days-rest. Don’t be too eager to do another session. Relax, you will have your device for life, there will always be another day to get it done.

How to Prevent Hickey-like marks

There will be occasions where you can get red marks or hickey-like marks because the suction draws out impurities, dead skin cells and excess oil and sebum. The force of the suction draws blood to the surface of your skin too that’s why if you linger on the same spot for too long, chances are you are going to get red marks.

To prevent this from happening, you have to move the wand or the diamond head quickly and carefully. Do not pass the same area more than twice. Let your skin rest for a day or two, depending on how much time you need before doing another dermabrasion session.

Again, we truly believe that our at home microdermabrasion is a life changer. We wish you to get the best results you truly deserve. If you need help in getting the most out of your device, you can drop by our website and chat with our customer support representatives. You may also call our toll-free number 866-546-4664 to talk to us personally. We can work hand in hand to get you the most beautiful skin you ever had. Don't lose hope, help is available 24/7.
