In addition to several beauty hacks and other tips out there, there are also a lot of companies that make big claims about what their products can achieve for skin that aren’t exactly realistic. Here are a few skincare myths you don’t want to be fooled by.
Exfoliate Every Day
Exfoliation is important for your skin. It removes dead skin cells that sit on the surface, which means that products get deeper into your skin. And although it’s usually easy to remember to put sunscreen on your face, the most neglected skin on your face is usually your lips.
This can be in part because we don’t think about our lips getting sunburned and we may not even notice if it happens, but your lips need protection from the sun as well. Not sure what to get? When looking for a lip balm, grab something that has broad-spectrum SPF to make sure you get the coverage you really need.
And like with all sunscreen, make sure you keep it handy throughout the day so you can reapply as needed. Just throw it in a purse or your beach bag and you’ll be set throughout the day.
At the end of the day, there’s a lot of information out there that may not be true. In fact, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn’t.
